The difficulty curve hit very hard the second viper worms spawn. We got viper worm spawning in packs of 2 and 3 per small bug hive even before seeing other units like Larvae, Malacostra, Ravagers, or even Mortakos. The hives definitely spread way too fast, and once they have a cluster of them, it's impossible to clear them because of a dozen viper worms showing up. Also, I think the of the hives' evolution should be reworked, I dont think the bugs should be able spawn 5 to 10 hives in a line when they decide to attack. We reached a point in our game that, there are multiple clusters of hives (5 / 6 clusters on each side) that consistantly attack us, so it doesnt even matter if we clear the smaller hives because they will spread 10x faster than we can kill them when they attack again. Maybe a good alternative would make it so Large bug hives can only spread through a triloscout that idles somewhere for a certain amount of time. Once the timer hits 0, a new hive appears. What really caused us trouble was the viper worms making it impossible to clear the hive clusters. Some hive clusters would spawn 15 to 25 viper worms. I think viper worms should be reworked as well. If we compare them to the Scyther that needs its egg to hatch, vipers worms are way way stronger. Way too much health, highest damage, highest range behind the mortakos. On the game save that is attached, we had to turn off hive evolution and set the difficulty to 20% so we could still play on this save. | 2026-02-14 22:14:52 |
